About Tallano Technologie

The French start-up Tallano Technologie has designed and manufactured an innovative concept to reduce microparticle’ emissions produced during braking suited to both the automotive and rail industries. The first vehicles equipped with this innovative system are expected towards the end of 2016. Within the next few years they plan to fit the system to a wide range of wheeled vehicles around the world.

Industrial Challenges

Produce a turbine capable of capturing the microparticles emitted from the brake discs required many years of research.
This research was necessary to better understand the behavior and to handle with numerous constraints, such as temperature and size.

Digital simulation tools happen to be indispensable in many areas: structural simulations are used to prevent material damage and defects; vibration simulations help verifying the resonance level within the system, fluid and thermal simulations allow them to optimize the system efficiency and fatigue testing permit to control the longevity of the system.

Témoignage client KEONYS : Tallano TechnologiesToday, a brake disc emits six times more micro-particles per kilometer than an exhaust pipe. As a result, we have design an aspiration system able to collect the micro-particle emissions produced during braking.

Benefits

Microparticle emissions during braking have been reduced from 30 mg/km to 0.9 mg/km, which represents a decrease of more than 90%. The system is highly adaptable and can be fitted to vehicles from small city cars to trains.
