At ARC glass design begins in France, continues in China and ends in the United Arab Emirates. The challenge for ARC was to deploy a collaborative work platform for its production sites located in four countries (United States, China, United Arab Emirates, and Russia)

The challenge: Until 2010, the subsidiaries, dedicated solely to production, used French-designed models and tools to reduce time to market and also to design to meet the needs of its customers. The group decides to make a strategic shift allowing its subsidiaries to design and adapt the product.

“We produce 4 million parts a day, with a very wide range of models and many tools. So we very quickly understood that we needed a data management system associated with our designs to be able to find and reuse them easily”.
Anne Moyaux, CAD/CAM Manager, ARC Group

The solution: Today, production sites work on a single shared database thanks to Dassault Systèmes solutions. The company was already using CATIA for design and DELMIA for machining.
But thanks to ENOVIA, productions that started at one production site can be adapted and continued at another.
The solution also makes it possible not to repeat what has already been done thanks to the “search” function. All the documents required for production are available and centralised on ENOVIA, which makes it easier for local teams to adapt production.

“The idea is to have a single entry door that synchronizes and manages all the data,” says Anne Moyaux on the choice of solution.
