In this 2021 edition of our Innovation Day, we will be very pleased to welcome Dr. Thomas Mannmeusel, CIO Webasto and CIO of the Year in Germany, December 2020) as our key note speaker at our Innovation Day.
Webasto headquartered in Germany is a global innovative systems partner to almost all automobile manufacturers and is among the top 100 suppliers in this sector worldwide. With electric heating systems, charging solutions and battery systems, Webasto is also addressing the growth market of electromobility. Sustainability is a key challenge of future mobility in the automobile sector. The company is fully committed in this objective and convinced that digital technologies will help them to provide automobile manufacturers with the right products. In his speech Dr Thomas Mannmeusel will explain, amongst other things, the needs to standardize the ways of working in the 50 locations in the world and especially to have product engineering and production engineering working more closer. The CIO will also highlight the strategic issues facing company leaders, such as: How can I set up cultural and technological changes in my company? What are the main steps to carry out to succeed in the digital transformation? What are the right expectations from a technological partner to accompany me in this journey?

The Cloud and the Digital Twin
CENIT-KEONYS expects that by 2025, around 50% of new licences sold by the group will be Cloud-based. Collaborative innovation proves to be the real driver of the growth and competitiveness. Cost reduction, quality and innovation are the main challenges the industrial chain, from OEMs to suppliers of all sizes and in all sectors. The promise of the Cloud: cheaper, more agile and secure hosting services is intruding considerably into the industrial sphere. Now Industry is seizing those digital opportunities to design, simulate and plan its production online and collaboratively with its community; a tremendous advantage to imagine and create the products and services of the future. The industry has always evolved to reinvent itself and address the new challenges of its time. I am personally convinced that the digital twin will be a key contributor to a sustainable innovation. The Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE® platform provides the Industry sector with a “digital twin” of its activity to optimize the innovation strategy of the companies. Combining simulation and data, the digital twin reproduces the real system it models. It makes it possible to anticipate the product life cycle stages and to plan the activities of the whole production chain. “A factory’s “digital twin” means virtually designed products, but also manufacturing processes and production management in digital mode, linked to real-time data. Housing a “digital twin” on the Cloud means it can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and connected to an extended ecosystem.
