« A Cloud solution is an easy option. No installation, maintenance or updates need to be performed, or data security managed”, explains Cyril Le Hénanff, Quality Manager at Watt & Well.
Supply a motor control system for the new Ariane 6 launcher? The challenge is great and requires additional expertise. “The aerospace sector has such high requirements for design traceability that, without a new tool, we would have been unable to ensure this”, underlines Cyril Le Hénanff.
And the choice in favour of Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE® platform on the Cloud is a natural choice for design and data sharing. “We had been trying to maximize the outsourcing of our IT system for a long time, because it was consuming a lot of resources. We had no in-house IT staff, so either our employees would work on it in their free time or we would have to use very expensive outside consultants.”
Watt & Well intends to demonstrate its new expertise and implement it for the benefit of promising areas such as oil & gas and e-mobility. And the internal adhesion is an additional asset. “If engineers are used to seeing a green button, then that button has to be green. But on the Cloud, if the button is blue, no one will change it to green for you. That’s what is new here, although the journey takes place more in the minds of our users.”
