Dassault Systèmes’ purpose is to provide companies and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovation capable of harmonizing product, nature and life. To become actively engaged in the sustainable transformation of the industry, Dassault Systèmes is deploying a wide range of collaborative digital solutions. Interview with Philippine de T’Serclaes, Chief Sustainability Officer at Dassault Systèmes.
Imagining, designing and testing for a more sustainable economy
Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 will require drastic reductions in anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from fossil fuels. Industry is committed to this purpose, and digital technologies can help by imagining, designing and testing products, materials and manufacturing processes from the beginning and throughout all stages of development. “We support the transition to circular economy models by facilitating ecodesign and sustainable resource management. The virtual twin is a powerful tool for supporting decisions and developing data-driven collaborative practices, streamlined operational processes, and new business models.”
Sustainability and prosperity: How do we do it?
Finding the right balance between economic performance and respect for the environment is a major challenge.
“Companies need to build sustainability goals into their corporate strategies and see sustainability as an opportunity for growth and innovation. Collaboration between governments, NGOs, communities and consumers is vital to define common objectives and share best practices. Continuous innovation and adopting new technologies and business models is also necessary to build a more sustainable industry. By working together, we can create harmony between the economic, social and environmental dimensions and achieve long term sustainable prosperity.”
