Technological choices for a growth strategy

Keonys, a leading European distributor and integrator of Dassault Systèmes’ Product Lifecycle Management solutions (PLM), announces the signing of a new contract with Arc International, the world leader in tableware, for the deployment of the ENOVIA collaborative platform for all its internation allocations.

Since the foundation of the Arques glassworks in 1825, the aim of the Arc International Group has been to be the recognised leader in tableware in added-value markets with strong growth potential via the Luminarc®, Arcoroc®, Cristal d’Arques® Paris, Pyrex®* (1) and Chef & Sommelier® ranges. This ambition has been realised by adopting new industrial orientations combined with new generation technological choices to win new market share. With a turnover of € 978 million in 2012, 11,630 employees around the world (6,357 of them in France) and approximately 4.6 million articles manufactured every day, Arc International invests a great deal in research and development.

Our policy of innovation in the glass-making field is based on studies and our production of high- technology products and materials to satisfy the latest trends in our markets worldwide. We were looking for a solution to optimise the control of our production and reduce the time taken to get our products on the market.

Bruno Etting, Product Development and Research Programmes Director at Arc International

Managing this project on an international scale took place in two stages and took nearly a year.

This was a major challenge, since we had to re-think all Arc International’s industrial processes and replace the two existing information systems (SmarTeam for managing product data and a company tool for managing bills of materials) with a single, unified collaborative platform covering all company sites.

Jacques Bacry, Co-Président of KEONYS.

The expansion of the Arc International Group is demonstrated by the creation of production and sales structures in the United States, Asia, Russia and the Middle East. This model requires perfect synergy between everyone involved in the project.

Collaboration in multi-site mode for more agile, creative and autonomous subsidiaries

The intuitive on-line interface of ENOVIA V6 is a major advantage for sharing a single database in real time, interacting at any moment, thanks to the universal language of 3D, and thus capitalising on the group’s know-how in the different phases of the life cycle of our products. The Keonys consultants worked together with Arc International teams over several months to complete this transformation successfully. So, last April, we managed to migrate 200,000 items to ENOVIA V6, a key date on the road to yet more innovations made by Arc International.
Jérôme Perrod, Group Industrial, R&D and Purchasing Director
