The last version of CATIA and the 3DEXPERIENCE® R2018x were made to improve your design process.

Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE® Platform allows a cross-services and cross-functions interaction thanks to a collaborative platform, extended to all the Dassault Systèmes’ products (CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, ABAQUS, DELMIA, ENOVIA). This packed with improvement to help the Designers and the design process.

 What’s new for everyone ?

This update allows CATIA V5 users to have access to the 3DEXPERIENCE® Platform for with no data migration needed. Thanks to this process, ongoing and already existing models created with CATIA V5 are available on the platform to be shared across the value chain.

The R2018x brings the immersive reality to any user : engineers, designers, managers and collaborators to share a virtual reality of the product while being completely aware of other users at the same time. This way, decisions are made faster and more accurately.

What’s new for designers ?

The R2018x has new features such as the Human Experience and the Unified Modelling for Design Workflow. The former  app is allowing designers to create a more consumer friendly final product by simulating, replaying and studying an accurate complex human interaction. The Unified Modelling for Design Workflow allows its users to pick different mathematics to create shapes for more flexibility and creativity.

What’s new for engineers ?

New functionalities are released to help engineers in their daily tasks. The Stamping Die Designer has several functions to help designers provide a high quality final product such as the optimization of stamping direction, the creation of addenda surfaces or trim lines. The R2018x release has new tools for Architects, Structural Engineers and MEP to prevent repetitive tasks and accelerates the design process. Finally, the new Driven Generative Designer now allows non-specialists designers by providing requirements to generate simply optimized conceptual assemblies

What’s new for cyber engineers ?

R2018x extends Cyber Systems Engineering to brings more continuity to the design, allowing all the parties involved to work through the 3DEXPERIENCE® Platform.
