[PRESS RELEASE]
TMHMF called on KEONYS’ expertise and Dassault Systèmes’ solutions to implement its evolution strategy.
Toyota Material Handling is a member of the Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) group, the world’s leading manufacturer of material handling equipment since 2001. TICO is present worldwide under the Toyota, BT, Raymond and Cesab brands. With the acquisition of Vanderlande and Bastian solutions, Toyota Industries Corporation further consolidates its position as the first choice partner in the field of material handling and thus provides global solutions regardless of the size of the projects. Toyota Material Handling Manufacturing France (TMHMF) produces Toyota thermal front-end forklifts in Ancenis (44). The factory manufactures for the European market and also has a spare parts distribution centre. TMHMF has called on KEONYS to transform its design methods so that the products marketed are more in line with the expectations of the European market, which is different from the global market in terms of regulations and options expected by customers.
“In a market where competitive pressure is becoming increasingly fierce, it is essential for TMHMF to provide itself with the means to align its offer with the specific needs of European customers. We therefore need to take more initiative in the design and industrialization of our products where in the past we relied mainly on the skills of our headquarters in Japan. According to our analysis, Dassault Systèmes’ PLM and 3Dexperience® platform are the best way to make this transformation possible in order to quickly strengthen our competitiveness.”Cyril Cottet, CIO of Toyota Material Handling Manufacturing France
“Our exhaustive and highly advisory pre-sales approach allows the client to project himself and visualize his transformation. Our support in managing change has enabled us to better understand TMHMF’s needs, and our expertise, as well as that of Dassault Systèmes, has enabled this major player in the industry to respond more effectively to a constantly changing market. It was necessary to understand what the teams needed in the field, especially since this project has an impact on more than 100 employees in its initial scope. KEONYS’ support also enables TMHMF to advise TMHMF in the transformation of its PLM solution into the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform, a solution that will strengthen international collaboration between TMHE’s various European sites.” Philippe Coelo, Sales Account Manager of KEONYS
In order to support the transformation of the French plant, KEONYS relied on its PLM approach, the Company Digital Alignment. The objective of this study is to meet a significant panel of company stakeholders to gather their needs, analyze the environment and processes, identify areas for improvement, and define the final scope of the project in relation to the company’s strategic challenges. Among the needs identified, we find the need to set up a single data repository, or better management of BOMs and the many product options.
Following this first step, more than 190 operational needs were identified in the plant, ultimately divided into 4 main families of PLM initiatives. These needs were then prioritized by areas of improvement, then compared with the company’s strategic challenges to ensure that they were aligned with TMHMF’s business drivers.
KEONYS has thus established a 3-year roadmap to deploy a PLM solution to meet the major challenges of TMHMF and support the company in its global digital transformation.
This approach has made it possible to develop a common vision with:
- The adhesion of the executive,
- Sharing knowledge and understanding of the existing situation at all levels and functions of the company,
- The construction of a team for transformation.
“The PLM project and the integration of the 3D Experience solution into our company are strategic for the development of TMHMF. This digitalization of our product management activities is above all an opportunity for us to radically reform our operational processes in order to improve their added value, quality and productivity. Therefore, change management is of particular importance. That is why, as General Manager, I personally took over this project. In addition, we invest a lot internally in communication and training to demystify PLM. Finally, we do our utmost to involve as many people as possible affected by the change so that they are involved and fully support this transformation.” Philippe Mahé, Managing Director of Toyota Material Handling Manufacturing France
