ENOVIA Governance
Project management and commitment tracking solution "Governance"
Many PLM projects start with project management.
Although handled in the past by special-purpose systems, there is much to be gained by associating it directly with the actual elements of the project. Whether the business produces its own products, is a supplier of components or services, operates in the realm of mechanics or textiles, its projects must be managed. Furthermore, the business needs to control not only the schedule and the resources involved in the project, but also all the tasks and deliverables to be supplied during each phase of execution.
ENOVIA V6 provides a complete solution with management facilities for all projects in the business, the associated deliverables and the resources, as well as financial aspects, risks and handling of problems that arise.
It integrates with Microsoft Project so can be rapidly adopted by users already familiar with that software.
The management tools in ENOVIA V6 provide an overall view of project progress and resource utilisation, as well as enabling delays in delivery to be anticipated and measures to be taken to address potential risks. Aside from project management, ENOVIA V6 is ultimately of great assistance to decision makers.
ENOVIA V6 clients very soon define standard projects in the form of document templates, that include the phases, tasks, main milestones and deliverables. These project templates are then used systematically across the business, ensuring consistent practices across the company and observance of quality processes related to the discipline. It also takes project managers less time to create a new project.
ENOVIA V6 enables our clients to extend the scope of PLM beyond development itself, in particular so as to include requirements management. These requirements define customer expectations and what the product to be developed specifically needs. The extent to which the final product meets these expectations is therefore of paramount importance, but even so, they are still rarely incorporated as part of the initial design data, but instead held as a single document. ENOVIA V6 allows users to integrate requirements as definition data with its own lifecycle, so that they are linked to all parts of the definition that determine whether requirements are met. This allows our clients to have an expanded technical definition, so that they can control the impact of any modification, from customer expectations through to product acceptance testing.
Product compliance with regulations in force in the target country or countries is another key factor for businesses. A compliance failing can be extremely damaging, both financially and for the image of the company. Audits undertaken when design is complete enable product compliance to be validated, but undertaking them at the end of the cycle rules out reacting rapidly to any problem that arises.
ENOVIA V6 incorporates this information from the start of the design phase, enabling those responsible for product development to make the right choices and thereby to avoid expensive modifications that cause delays.
