Keonys and Wapp6 sign a Strategic Partnership: a comprehensive portfolio of industrial PLM solutions and innovative tailored solutions to address the Construction Industry

Press Release - Saint-Cloud, November 15, 2011

Keonys, a consultancy and integration company specialised in product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions and the leading distributor of Dassault Systèmes solutions in Europe, and Wapp6, a software publishing and service company focused on innovative and tailored solutions for construction projects, have announced a strategic partnership to jointly propose an extensive range of solutions intended for the building design, construction and public works sectors, covering all types of construction project.

Following manufacturing industries, the construction sector in its turn is now facing enormous changes: new materials, “green buildings”, new energy standards, the segmentation of sector players and very low-margin operations are leading architects and builders to examine innovative solutions. In the face of the major challenges confronting the sector, investing in PLM systems focused on management of construction and buildings’ life cycle (BIM or Building Information Modelling) becomes a strategic choice.

“Our wide range of PLM solutions enables businesses of all sizes and sectors to meet the challenges specific to their industry and innovate in order to remain competitive. These solutions are accessible to architectural, engineering and construction businesses. But to ensure that their switch to PLM is successful, our industrial customers need to be supported by partners who have dual skills, both in the construction sector and in PLM technology. I am convinced that the agreement signed today with Wapp6 will allow Keonys to gain ground in the construction market, improve their understanding of the stakes and needs, and expand their capacity to implement our PLM solutions to cover different aspects of BIM,” stated Bruno Latchague, Executive Vice President , PLM Value Solutions Dassault Systèmes.

“We asked Keonys to develop our web-based progress statement management solution for public and private markets, including PPP (Public-Private Partnerships). Thanks to this partnership we will be able to develop other applications together, extend our market by offering our customers a much wider panel of solutions and thus accelerate our growth,” declared Franck Meudec, President and founder of Wapp6.

“For three years, Keonys has been implementing an activity diversification strategy, particularly with regard to the construction industry. We have chosen Wapp6 for their wealth of expertise in information systems as applied to the building industry and their strategy of developing online applications. After more than a year of cooperation, I am very proud that our links are being strengthened today. This partnership also enables Keonys to propose solutions adapted to all types of construction project and accelerate the adoption of Dassault Systèmes PLM solutions in this sector,” explained Jean-Yves Yung, President and founder of Keonys.

For professionals in the construction sector, Keonys distributes and installs Digital Project, from Gehry Technologies, for outline projects, CATIA for detailed engineering studies and ENOVIA for overall project management. The range is completed by Wapp6’s solutions for document sharing, defect management, supervision of graphic charter and progress statement management. With more than 10,000 users, Wapp6 solutions have already been adopted by a large number of customers, including AIA Group, Cogedim, Egis, Eiffage, Inexia, Léon Grosse, Oger International, Vinci Construction etc.

According to the terms of this agreement, Keonys acquires a minority equity in the registered capital of Wapp6 and the two companies will develop joint sales and marketing approaches.
